Out of thousands of entries, Children's Law Center was chosen by The NonProfit Times as one of the best nonprofits to work for in the country!
Earlier this year, CLC's 75 employees completed a 70-part survey with questions about the work environment at CLC and how satisifed they were with certain aspects of their experience, such as work-life balance and organizational culture among other things. CLC also had to describe its practices on employee orientation, compensation and professional development. Based on these responses, CLC earned 22nd overall and placed 9th among medium organizations.
“I’m delighted that our hard-working, talented employees feel they are supported by Children’s Law Center and enjoy our collegial environment,” said Judith Sandalow, CLC Executive Director. “We have worked hard for fifteen years to cultivate a unique culture that supports each of our employees individually and encourages team work across all levels of our organization. No matter what your title is here, we are all working together to improve the lives of DC’s neediest children and families,” she continued, “and it’s an honor to be recognized for our commitment to our staff.”

“The advice I would give … is to keep sending Covington and Burling loaned associates to Children’s Law Center. That experience fundamentally changed what it meant to me to be a lawyer. And I can’t overstate how important that experience was to my professional development.”
