The ninth annual Helping Children Soar benefit was a great success! More than 450 guests enjoyed a dramatic sunset at the Kennedy Center Roof Terrace Restaurant. Thanks to all of our fabulous donors, the benefit raised more than $455,000 - which is well above our benefit goal of $400,000 and will go a long way toward offsetting our overall budget shortfall for the year.
Covington and Burling LLP generously matched all gifts made at the event.
The Honorable Eric H. Holder, Jr. received the 2009 Distinguished Child Advocate award. Mr. Holder was recognized for his long time support of CLC and dedication to the children of the District.
As a mental health professional, it’s a pleasure to work with Children’s Law Center because of their attention to the full spectrum of a child and family’s needs. I rely on CLC attorneys to provide background and insight.
Meaningful adult relationships are often few and far between for many of the children I see in neglect and abuse cases. It speaks volumes to me when a troubled adolescent names a CLC attorney as someone they trust.
