Marcia is a Staff Attorney with the Families First Program, where she represents caregivers and third-parties in adoption and guardianship cases, as well as the best interests of children in custody Guardian ad Litem cases. Prior to joining Children’s Law Center in 2015, Marcia served as a law fellow and Disability Benefits Specialist with University Legal Services’ Jail & Prison Advocacy Project in DC. In this position, she worked with incarcerated women who were diagnosed with serious mental health illnesses and who were incarcerated or recently released from the DC Jail with applying for Social Security disability benefits. Her work also included general advocacy efforts for clients re-entering the DC community after incarceration.
