Concept Paper for the District of Columbia’s Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re Housing Program (HPRP)

May 6, 2009

Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) received $7.49 million in Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP) funding from the federal government through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and solicited comments on the plan for the funds.  CLC submitted comments urging DHCD to set aside a portion of these federal funds specifically for families and children involved with DC’s child welfare agency. (CLC's comments on Homelessness Prevention Plan)

I wouldn’t have been able to afford the legal help that I got. The legal assistance I got was equivalent to a Wall Street law firm. That’s how hard Children’s Law Center worked. I could never have paid for what I received from them.
