Cara is a senior attorney in the Guardian ad Litem Program, where she represents the best interests of children involved in the Washington, DC abuse and neglect system. Before joining Children’s Law Center in 2014, she clerked for the Honorable Julie R. Breslow, the Honorable Elizabeth A. Mullin, and the Honorable Sean C. Staples at the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.  As a student attorney in the American University- Washington College of Law Domestic Violence Clinic, Cara helped survivors of domestic violence secure civil protection orders and a U-Visa.  Prior to law school, she developed children's programs at an art museum.
