Rebecca leads the Families First Program, which is devoted to securing stable homes and families for children in the foster care system or at risk of entering foster care. Rebecca, who joined Children’s Law Center in 2004, also leads the work to ensure that children receive legal representation in custody matters when their family stability is threatened by domestic violence, allegations of abuse or high conflict between their parents. Rebecca has trained and mentored hundreds of pro bono, solo, and legal services attorneys about the law and practice of representing adults and children in neglect, adoption, guardianship and custody matters. During law school, she represented individuals as a criminal defense attorney and also worked at the DC Public Defender Service and Children’s Law Center.
