How Does CLC Help Children Achieve Educational Success?
Children’s Law Center’s education experts work to secure the services necessary to improve educational outcomes for children involved in DC’s child welfare system as well as children whose disability or developmental delays have an adverse effect on their education and health. CLC attorneys secure special education services and early intervention services, respond to school discipline matters, and maintain children’s school stability and school enrollment.
The evidence is clear – a meaningful education is essential for children to grow and flourish. Whether a child is referred by a Children’s National Medical Center pediatrician or comes to CLC as a foster child, CLC’s education advocacy helps more than 1,000 of DC’s children each year get a good start and keep their feet on a secure path.
“The Children’s Law Center has been a real comfort to me. It’s fair to say that things really turned for the better for us because of the law center.”
