ext. 593

Amy Smith joined Children’s Law Center as a staff attorney with the GAL Project in 2010. She graduated cum laude from the Georgetown University Law Center in 2009 and clerked for one year for the Honorable Stephen Glickman on the D.C. Court of Appeals. She was a Dean’s Scholar at Georgetown and also completed the Pro Bono Pledge, which required performing pro bono service while a student. During law school, Amy participated in the Juvenile Justice Clinic, where she represented teenagers in juvenile delinquency cases, and she also served as a law clerk to the Children’s Law Center’s GAL Project during her second year of law school. Before attending law school, Amy spent two years volunteering with AmeriCorps programs—one year in a homeless shelter for families and one year in a Head Start classroom.

“I would thank Children’s Law Center for giving me a chance to go to a four year college or even a trade school, to do something I’d like to do. Like maybe be a sportscaster … or a chef.”
