Genetta Smith joined Children's Law Center as a staff attorney in 2006. She graduated from the University of the District of Columbia-David A. Clarke School of Law, where she was a Dean’s Fellow. While in law school, Genetta interned at Children’s Law Center and worked in the HIV/AIDS Legal Clinic. She was also awarded the Olender Foundation’s advocacy award, a scholarship named in memory of the late Earl H. Davis, a trial lawyer who was, "a compassionate champion of the underdog." Genetta is a 2006 recipient of the Frederick B. Abramson Public Interest Fellowship Award.
I will never forget my clients … in fact, I still have their picture on the wall in my office, because it really helps me to put into perspective my work and the work of the Children’s Law Center.
