Iris González joined the Children’s Law Center in January of 2012. Iris is also an associate at Covington & Burling LLP. She is a member of the firm’s litigation group, with expertise in complex commercial litigation, multi-jurisdictional mass tort litigation, product liability litigation, and government investigations. Throughout her career, Iris has maintained an active pro bono practice involving both civil and criminal litigation matters, and serves on the firm's Diversity and Public Service Committees. Iris obtained her J.D., cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center in 2003, where she was a member of the Georgetown Law Journal and participated in the Criminal Justice Clinic. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Government, cum laude, from the University of Texas at Austin in 1998. While in college, she tutored at risk high school students. Originally from Puerto Rico, Iris is fluent in Spanish.
