Jessica joined the Children's Law Center as the Legal Assistant in September 2011. She is an honors graduate from the University of Florida, graduating in May 2010 with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in International Studies. Prior to joining the CLC, Jessica worked on special projects for a small consulting firm under contract with HUD's Office of Public and Indian Housing, participated in a Global Conservation Awareness project in Costa Rica, and worked as an Information and Referral Specialist at Miami-Dade County's 311 Call Center. While in college, she studied at the Paris Research Center, worked on a Health Outreach initiative in rural Peru and coordinated and led a group of students to aid migrant workers in California. Additionally, she mentored at-risk youth and runaways at a Safe Place with the Interface Youth Program, as well as pregnant teens and teen mothers with the Pleasant Place program. She was also a Family Visitation Center Intern with the Children's Home Society of Florida where she monitored families' visits and helped foster positive parenting and interaction techniques. She is fluent in Spanish and has some proficiency in French.
