Joy Purcell joined Children's Law Center as a staff attorney in the Health Access Project in the Fall of 2008. Joy is a graduate of New York University with a BA in Politics and Latin American Studies. In 2008 she received her JD magna cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law. During law school Joy served as an Articles and Comments Editor on the Inter-American Law Review and was a member of the Moot Court Board. She discovered her passion for health law during her two years in the Community Health Rights Education Clinic representing clients in family law, public benefits and immigration matters. Joy spent her summers in law school interning in the Family Law Division of the Dade County Legal Aid Society and the HIV/AIDS Representation Project of the Harlem Community Law Offices of the Legal Aid Society.
