Melanie Jaskolka joined Children’s Law Center in 2009 as the Intake Coordinator/Executive Assistant. She graduated from Smith College with honors with a B.A. in Government and French Studies in 2009. She spent her junior year studying at the Institut de hautes études internationales et du développement in Geneva, Switzerland. During college, Melanie interned at the Niagara County Legal Aid Society, the International Institute of Buffalo, and the International Labor Organization. She is fluent in French and also speaks Portuguese conversationally.
Steptoe & Johnson has had a very close relationship with the Children's Law Center since its formation. The cases CLC refers are truly compelling, and the many attorneys who have worked on them over the years have been deeply touched by the experience. It is also a pleasure to work with the CLC staff, all of whom are extremely knowledgeable, and always ready to mentor pro bono attorneys.
