Children’s Law Center fights so every child in DC can grow up with a loving family, good health and a quality education. Judges, pediatricians and families turn to us to advocate for children who are abused or neglected, who aren’t learning in school, or who have health problems that can’t be solved by medicine alone. With more than 100 staff and hundreds of pro bono lawyers, we reach 1 out of every 9 children in DC’s poorest neighborhoods – more than 5,000 children and families each year. Children’s Law Center seeks a development operations professional with demonstrated experience developing efficient systems and managing the operations of a fast-paced development team. The development associate for operations coordinates our foundation grants (working closely with our outside consulting team) and workplace giving.  The development associate is also responsible for the donor database, all development analytics, and financial reconciliation. The development associate supervises the development assistant and reports to the chief development officer.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Prior experience with database management required.

  • Minimum 2 years prior experience working in a nonprofit setting preferred.

  • Excellent project management skills.

  • Excellent analytic capacity.

  • Ability to motivate others.

  • Strong writing skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Excellent professional judgment and ability to maintain confidential information.

  • Proficient at managing multiple assignments using clear and direct communication.

  • Adept at working independently and as a team member.

  • Able to work efficiently and problem-solve effectively.

  • Capable of working well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willing and available to work overtime, as necessary, for events and time-sensitive projects.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 or 2016, especially Word and Excel.

  • College experience preferred.

Salary is up to low $50,000s, commensurate with experience. Position is open until filled.
