Kristen Pisani-Jacques has been the Deputy Director of the Guardian ad litem (GAL) Project at the Children’s Law Center since 2015. She joined the GAL project as a staff attorney in 2008 and has also served as supervising attorney and senior supervising attorney during her time at the Children’s Law Center. Kristen supervises staff attorneys and supervising attorneys who represent children who are in the abuse and neglect system. She also carries a limited caseload of GAL cases and cases where she represents caregivers seeking adoption, guardianship, or custody. As a law student, Kristen participated in the Street Law and Domestic Violence clinics. She also spent a summer at Advocates for Justice and Education assisting parents whose children were not getting the special education services they needed. In addition, Kristen was a summer law clerk at Maryland’s Legal Aid Bureau, working on cases involving child custody and divorce for low-income clients.
