Lauren Moxley is a Staff Attorney in the Pro Bono Program on rotation from Covington & Burling. Lauren will work at CLC for six months, focusing primarily on adoption, guardianship, and third-party custody. At Covington, Lauren is a litigator focused on privacy and technology issues. In her pro bono practice, Lauren has led teams and drafted three Supreme Court amicus briefs for pro bono clients, including a brief on behalf of forty women’s groups in support of the same-sex couple in Masterpiece Cakeshop. Lauren also represented individuals and organizations challenging the legality of the Trump administration’s Travel Ban and Transgender Service Member Ban. Before joining Covington, Lauren served as a law clerk for Judge Richard C. Wesley on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Lauren is excited and grateful for the opportunity to work with CLC on its outstanding work and mission to help children in Washington, DC.
