Human Services Public Roundtable: CFSA Testimony

November 4, 2020

Many of the DC children in foster care we serve have struggled with remote learning or supervision issues during the pandemic. While we commend CFSA for its efforts supporting remote learning and proactively revising attendance policies that could have led to harmful educational neglect investigations, Senior Policy Attorney Tami Weerasingha-Cote testified before the Committee on Human Services there are areas where the agency must do more, including: promptly providing digital devices to foster children who need them; providing additional resources to CFSA-involved families; further supporting and engaging children in protective supervision; and obtaining the needed PPE for CPS investigators to be able to conduct their work in-person without comprpmising health and safety.
